District heritage
Magura is resplendent in its own cultural characteristics. The beautiful Katyayani Puja celebrations, centenary horse racing, stick fighting, boat racing and Nabanna festival have made the district well known in the cultural arena. Magura is the birthplace of Jari songs, Holoy songs and Ashtak songs. These three genres of folk music are performed through group dance songs.
